Thoughts about sin 1

Lets assume a person is constantly lying to his friends.
and repents everytime he lies to his friends.

He finds out that he lies to his friends in order to
have a positive image.

In essence, his obsession to be someone he is not
is based on his fundamental desire to get acknowledged
by others. His existence is based on how others view him.

This tells a lot about the nature of sin.

Sin leads to sinful actions.
sinful actions to sinful actions in repetition.
So sin is addiction.
and it comes back to

1. worshipping something else then God
2. Me - being the center of my personal fulfilment
3. Other people becoming idols and the standard of measurement.
