unity in love and knowledge

Paul in colossians 2 says

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

This is a great and keen passage.
Essentially Paul says that unity of love leads to understanding which leads to knowledge of God.

On our path to know God, it is not only to intellectually embrace the gospel
but rather be united in love and be encouraged to experience love and therefore understand and gain knowledge and wisdom of God

the God of punishment

in former times i often tried to neglect or even reject e God of the old testament
reason was
god seemed like the god of wrath

but why is the god of the old testament no different than the god of the new testament ?

because of jesus
he put the punishment he gave to the disobidient people in the old testament on Jesus

this is again where his infinite love is shown to us
if you take away punishment there is no god of forgivenesss and justice
